I can hardly believe my little babe is turning SIX MONTHS old today! It is crazy (and a little sad for this momma) that life just never seems to notice that I enjoy my baby just the way she is!
Oh, my little SG; she is one precious little gift from God. She has such a fun personality! She's super laid-back, smiles lots and lots and is super loving; I like to think she takes after me. One of her favorite things to do is caress my (or Daddy's) face and while "talking" to us. It melts my heart every single time.
It's been about a month and a half since we began the solid food venture, and it has been quite a (difficult) journey. I think I may have a picky eater on my hands, but I prefer to tell myself it's just because I produce such good milk she prefers it even to solid foods. Of everything we have tried, the only two things she likes (yes, you read that right...she only likes TWO things) are: sweet potatoes and cherries. Go figure. She will tolerate rice and oatmeal, but everything else sends her to tears (apples, pears, mango, strawberries, butternut squash, acorn squash, spaghetti squash, pumpkin, carrots...*sigh*). Oh well, at least she eats, right?
In other development news, she rolls like a fiend and can sit up by herself a total of about 10 seconds, hah! Usually she falls over because she's too curious about an object out of her reach and lunges to inspect whatever said object might be. I can hardly ever put her in the Bumbo anymore because as soon as she's in it she starts to crawl out of it and I'm worried one of these days she's going to hurt herself. [Speaking of hurting herself, yesterday her curious mind (and Momma's not-thinking-mind) got the better of her. When I went to stir dinner (which was cooking in the crock pot), Little Miss wanted to know what it was and reached for the pot...this burning her poor little hand. I felt SO bad!] Anyways...
Like I said before, she's such a delight; she brings much joy to my soul. She helps me realize so many more things about God as my father. I just pray we can show her Jesus and someday she'll want nothing more than to serve Him with her ALL!
Thanks so much for your continued prayers for us here, we appreciate each one of them!
Blessings!
