*Ahem* Now why would you encounter this interesting combination of items near the bathtub?
Maybe because he decided to rub an entire tub of Vaseline in his hair! [I guess it was technically on about 3/4 the tub...but still]
This is why we were not in church on Wednesday night.
But in case you ever wondered, here is how you get Vaseline out of a toddler's hair:
Step 1: Get as much out with a clean towel (or paper towel) as possible...which is not much
Step 2: Cover the affected area (in Beni's case his entire head) with cornstarch (it makes the Vaseline clump together better)
Step 3: Wash cornstarch out with shampoo (hot water is best, but with a toddler you must use only warm water lest you should scald them)
Step 4: Wash the hair three times with dish soap
Step 5: Finish with one last wash of shampoo
And be prepared for a very unhappy toddler who for the life of himself cannot figure out why you keep rinsing "hurty" soap into his eyes. *sigh* The joys of motherhood. ;D
Blessings.
Oh Beni. What a mess! FYI, in case he ever does the same thing with gum, peanut butter works wonders for getting it out of hair:)
