It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. Lamentations 3:22-25 (KJV)

Adventures in Phoenix

As I mentioned in the last post, Joel and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary last Tuesday (May 24th). We were truly blessed to spend 3 nights and 4 days ALONE in Phoenix at the condo of a friend of a friend. It was so great to get away just the two of us (that doesn't happen very often...hardly ever)!

We headed up Saturday morning. We were blessed to find the last of our baby items on Craigslist and stopped to pick them up when we arrived in Phoenix. It's such a relief to have a few more items checked off the "to-do" list before Baby Girl makes her arrival.

Saturday afternoon we made a trip to Safeway to pick up some groceries for our stay and we made a quick stop at Starbucks for some green tea...mmmmm.

What did we do the rest of the weekend? Well, Sunday we enjoyed some time poolside and an amazing dinner with friends, Monday we took a trip to the Salt River and enjoyed some time reading, singing and generally enjoying nature and the pleasure of each others' company. Tuesday we had a doctor's appointment (so exciting, I know) and ran a few more errands before enjoying our anniversary dinner and heading back to home sweet home.

Below are some photos from our trip to the Salt River:

Before heading out, there was an obligatory stop at Starbucks for some beverages (green tea for me, caramel frappe for Joel).

Our lovely, refreshing view down by the river.

Enjoying the peace and quiet (I read my book and listened). :D

It was a time of much needed refreshing. Sadly, I'm already ready for another getaway; this past week has been stressful!

Please continue praying for us!

Blessings.
